Island House Beach Resort 1S

A very well maintained rental, literally just steps to the sand and the beach. Would stay in this same unit if it remains an option.

The view was incredible! We love Island house! 1 S was very clean and we loved drinking coffee on the screened porch. Down side was it could use an update on furniture and pots and pans. Thank you for a wonderful week!

Just returned from another great vacation at Island House with family and friends. We were pleased to see that the new owners of 1S are in the process of renovating this unit. Already, all the windows, doors and blinds have been replaced. Surely, the hurricanes last fall slowed the work down. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to our future vacations at Island House.

We regularly vacation in Siesta Key at the Island House. We have stayed in various units within this resort. Our most favorite unit is 1S. This unit is very nicely decorated. Appears there have been recently many new updates recently made to this unit. Appliances and even the doors and windows look to be new. The beds are very comfortable. Bath areas in the unit are nicely decorated. The unit is very spacious with a gorgeous front seating area to watch those beautiful sunsets famous for the Crescent Beach area. The front seating area also has a small desk workspace if you need to attend a conference call or are working in telecommunicating role. What we love about this unit is that it’s only a few feet away from the beach. It is also close to the hi-top tables, corn hole boards, and shuffle boards for family fun. Location, location, location, makes this one of the best units for a relaxing on the beach or for a fun family Siesta Key vacation

Everything was very good except for the roaches we seen every night. I reported it to front office, but received no follow up. I got a couple, but they would run under the baseboard. Wife was not happy.

2 couples in our group stayed in 1 South and they reported that the whole unit needs a deep clean and major updating. Bathrooms were dirty with mold and cracked tiles, tub was disgusting and there were bugs in both the bedrooms and bathrooms.

We enjoy our stay at Island House! Our home away from home. It’s spacious and clean. Scott at the front desk is very easy and nice to work with if anything comes up. The place is clean and pretty well stocked for whatever you need. We decided to cook a few days and everything we needed was in there. Love that laundry room is accessible. Love the short walk to the beach. The screened porch is awesome anytime of day or night. We love that it’s not noisy around there like most hotels are. Very calm and peaceful area!

I was an owner for about 40 years at Island House so it was great to see some familiar faces. However my unit for the money I paid was so outdated and not comfortable. I would not want to come back if I had to stay in tha tunit for the money I paid. I was told that I would get anadjustment on my bill but I have not seen that yet. I had talked to Scott. Also the area to wash clothes was not clean. I was always being told what was wrong with my unit when I was an owner and I tried my best to fix the issues. I hope this owner will do the same because his place does not make me want to return to one of my most favorite places

We rented the unit that we have previously rented at least 8 times. Although the unit is older and in need of some TLC, the location and beach make it #1 in my book! Some general maintenance on the carpet, wallpaper and guest bath is needed, but it was clean and ready for us when we arrived!

We love the Island House Resort! The location is perfect, just south of downtown so the beaches are not as crowded, but close enough to hop on a trolley to ride in. The resort is well maintained.

This was our second time renting a unit from Island House. We love the location and enjoy watching the beautiful Siesta Key sunsets from the lanai. The property is very well maintained and our unit was clean but could use some minor repairs. We are already booked for next year.

We we’re fortunate to have a unit on the beach for a vacation with our daughter and her partner. It was a great opportunity for togetherness with flexibility. The unit was a good size and two bathrooms gave us flexibility and privacy.

We stayed initially December 4-15 but we had such a wonderful time we extended it ( thankfully it was available) until December 19th.. very comfortable, views are amazing, updated, all around great unit . We definitely will try get reservations at this unit again. We come sometimes 2x a year from Kentucky. Thank you for a wonderful stay

We had a fantastic stay at the Island House as always! 1S is definitely my favorite, really the only vacation I take each year and I look so forward to it. The location is the best I have every experienced and the unit is always very clean and comfortable.

My family has been staying at Island House since the 70's and we absolutely love it. The units vary in upkeep, but typically we have no major issues. 1S is a great unit with awesome views and beach access. It is in need of remodeling, but heard that is already scheduled. The unit is a little different as one bedroom doesn't have an adjoing bathroomm, but no huge issue.

Fabulous, we have stayed at this unit many times. Not the best overall, but you can't beat the view! I wih the kitchen has some decent knives and pots for cooking (these had burn marks in the bottom).

We have stayed here many times over the years and it is always Awesome. Amazing staff, Great location, Beautiful area.

Experience was great. However, had leak under kitchen sink;had difficulty with keys, only one worked in on door; and poor lighting in kitchen, especially above kitchen sink. Additionally, one of the dining room chairs was broken.

You can’t beat the location! Beautiful view every minute of the day. You are literally right on the beach. The condo has well maintained appliances and furniture is up to date. It’s a very old building so there definitely is some wear and tear on the ceilings, walls, doors etc.

We loved our stay at Island House. Customer Service was really responsive, the grounds are kept very nice and the beach is gorgeous. The beach chairs were awesome and we enjoyed playing shuffleboard with the best views!

We have been coming here for years. The property is beautiful and well kept and the staff are alway friendly and attentive.

We stepped out onto the beach, this place was truly amazing. Very clean and comfortable. This is our second time staying here, we love it. We also could step right outside our unit and wave to friends and family on the live Sieste Beach web cam.

The location of this apartment couldn't be better! We love Siesta Key and being able to have such a wonderful view and proximity to the beach, is definitely priceless!
I didn't have any problem with Property Management. I just asked a few questions and they responded right away.
Now, the apartment needs major renovation! The back doors wouldn't lock, the blinds were not in good shape, some outlets were not working, bulbs needed to be changed, etc. The carpet in the rooms were not my favorite.
Overall, the experience was great because we had a blast in our vacation, but I would have definitely preferred to stay on a place a little more updated and better taken care of.

As always, Island Houe is a wonderful place to stay. The units are always clean and comfortable.

While we LOVE the staff, location of the complex and location of this unit, it is tired. We’ve been staying here for 5 years, so we know what we’re talking about. There have been some appliances updates, but it’s time to update the rest!

The location of Apartment 1S is more than perfect. Just steps to the white sands of Siesta Key's beach. The unit itself need some updating. The carpeting in the bedrooms needs to be replaced with tiles. The hall bathroom needs upgrades. Not enough wine glasses!!! All of this can be overlooked just by sitting on the lanai and looking at the view. We will be back!
